New Totem hands out youth archery awards

Matthew Robinson and Kori Meyer are the first-place winners of the New Totem Archery Club's winter youth season.

The New Totem Archery Club wrapped up its winter youth season on March 24, with a fun finals shoot. Shooters took turns firing at the target throughout the day, with awards handed out at the end.

In the 6-10 years-old category, Matthew Robinson took home first place. Brailey Lillico finished third.

Kori Meyer finished first in the 11-16 years-old category, with Jeffrey Belcher taking third place. The second-place finishers for both categories are still to come.

The winter season gives shooters a chance to work on problem solving strategies, and gain diligence through trying over and over throughout the year. It's a test in perseverance for some, and a chance to overcome difficulties for others.

The kids were excited about their results this season and can't wait for next year.
