Indoor rodeo returns to Dawson Creek after seven long years

Ladies barrel racing is among the eight events scheduled for the 2022 Spring Breakup indoor rodeo in Dawson Creek.

For the first time in seven years, the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association is holding an indoor event in Dawson Creek.

Dubbed the Spring Breakup, eight different events will take place over two nights, starting tonight.

Included is the saddle bronc, bareback, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, ladies barrel racing, steer riding, team roping, and the always-popular bull riding.

Several local cowboys and cowgirls from the B.C. Peace are also on the slate.

Fort St. John's Jacob (Jake) Gardner will take part in the bull riding Saturday night.

Jake Watson from Hudson's Hope competes in the Saddle Bronc Friday.

The pride of Pouce Coupe, Clayton Moore, is set to go Friday in both tie-down roping and steer wrestling.

Stephen Culling from Fort St. John takes his turn at steer wrestling Saturday.

Baldonnel's Derek Hadland teams up with partner Jackson Braithwaite from Ponoka, Alta., in Friday's team roping event.

And, Kim Babcock from Fort St. John is entered in the ladies barrel racing slack performance Saturday morning.
