The Fort St. John Huskies went back on the road last night, this time to Clairmont, to face the County of Grande Prairie Kings. The Huskies beat the Kings 6-3 on September 25 to move to 2-0 early on in the season.
The first period started out slow, with the Kings scoring the only goal. Jared Winkel and Kurtis Lee got the team back in it in the second, before the Huskies blew the game open in the third with four straight goals. Winkel had four points (two goals, two assists), and Lee had three points (one assist, two goals) to lead the team in scoring.
Daniel Sturgeon was solid in his first start of the season, stopping 23 of the 26 shots he faced.
