As we all hoped for snow and no new regulations, the Silver Willow 4H club was able to enjoy an in-person meeting in December. We went to Sasquatch Valley for our meeting. We discussed how to increase feed rations and how to prevent bloating. Our club has a monthly weigh-in to ensure that the steers are growing and to get them used to seeing people. For this month's weigh-in the steers needed to be halter broke.

After the meeting, members went sledding. Just like you may have Christmas traditions with your family and friends, in 4H for Christmas we do a sledding party and gift exchange. It was too cold for me to dare step outside so I just stayed in the cabin during the sledding party. My sister Samantha, who can’t feel cold when sledding, enjoyed the slippery hill and loved hitting the jumps. Our gift exchange is a Chinese gift exchange. You can steal a gift three times and then that person gets to keep the gift. Luckily my sister was there and we could work together on getting the box of chocolates. For our next meeting we will decide our topics for the upcoming communications in February.

That's all for this 4H update, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
