The Fort St. John Mixed Slow Pitch Society held its first tournament since 2019 on July 24 and 25. There were 20 teams out at the diamonds for a fun, two-pitch style tournament.

The society had been planning on donating the registration fees to a worthy cause, and decided to donate to league-member Richard Mytopher to help cover costs as he recovers from a heart attack recently suffered. The winning teams donated their winnings as well, for a total of $5,500 given to the Mytophers.

"All of the family would like to extend their greatest thanks to everyone involved in this tournament this weekend. It is so overwhelming the amount of generosity and support that this whole ball family has given us all," Braidan Mytopher said to the society in a Facebook post.
