Tristen Nielsen is off to a blazing hot start to the 2021 WHL season. The fifth-year junior, in his final WHL season before he ages out, has nine points, including five goals, in five games.
Those numbers are boosted in part by the five-point effort Nielsen had in the Giant’s 6-0 beat down of the Kelowna Rockets on March 28.
As of April 5, the Giants were second in the BC Division with a 3-1 record.
Nielsen, in his third season with the Giants, was named an assistant captain at the start of the year.
He set career highs last season with 30 goals, 35 points, and 65 points in 61 games.
Though this is a shortened season, he is on pace to have his best points-per-game number of his WHL career.
