Watt's Irish dancers qualify for North American Championships at Western Canadian competition

The Watt's School of Irish Dance had 15 Fort St. John dancers compete in Calgary, November 12 to 14, at the Western Canadian Irish Dance Qualifying Championships.

The Watt's School of Irish Dance had 15 Fort St. John dancers compete in Calgary, November 12 to 14, at the Western Canadian Irish Dance Qualifying Championships. 

Dancers were competing for a spot at both the 2022 North American Championships and World Championships. 

The school had 12 dancers earn a spot at next year's competitions, with seven dancers finishing in the top three in their age group — McKinley Pomeroy (U10), Paisley Gibbons (U10), Reese Gibbons (U12), Kayleigh Fowler (U12), Naia Gibbons (U15), Mélodie Kemp (U16), and Emalee Chapple (U17).

The World Championships will be in Belfast, April 10 to 17, 2022, while the North American Championships will be in Montreal, July 1 to 5, 2022.
