Wray leads Spring Stage series

Final time trial race goes Thursday at Baldonnel
springstage-blizzard-update
The Blizzard Bicycle Club has one more race to go this Thursday as part of its Spring Series (Suzi Bach)

Spring Stage Race #4, more like the weather we are used to this time of year, cold, windy and rainy. But, of course, that doesn't make any of the Blizzards shy away from another road race.

The group took off together on the 25-kilometre route and rode neutral until course master Pat Ferris released the riders at the end of the first turnaround. Right away, Nigel Wray took off ahead with Dan Webster hot on his heels. Eventually, Nigel managed to shake Dan loose and finished the race well ahead of the rest of the pack.

Ard Hoogenboom and Jack Webster worked strategically together to try and draw Dan in, and in the end Dan finished only one bike length ahead of Ard in a sprint finish.

  • Nigel Wray - 46:47
  • Dan Webster - 53:41
  • Ard Hoogenboom - 53:42
  • Jack Webster - 54:53
  • Kristine Bock - 57:01
  • Sam Keats - 59:25
  • Richard Wood - 1:03:52
  • 17km course - Pat Ferris 36:55

Huge thank you to Susie for sticking around and braving the cold to time the race.
