The local Grade 9 volleyball teams competed in the 15th annual Jr. Pow Wow Invitational over the weekend. The Bert Bowes Middle School girls' team finished in third place in the 28-team tournament held at Grande Prairie Composite High School.

Fort St. John will once again be on the world stage this spring. Local fitness competitor Krista Cowie has been accepted to compete in the Arnold Amateur IFBB International Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure and Bikini Championship in March 2011.

Eleven Fort St. John Elks speed skaters competed at the Chetwynd Ice Breaker Challenge on Nov. 13 and impressed coach Richard Stickel. It was some of the local athletes' first short-track meet of the season, while it was others' second time.
