Competitors prevailed through a chilly and damp weekend at the Fort St. John Links Golf Course 2010 Club Championship.

Saturday's Quiche Brevet ended another season of randonneuring in the Peace Region. Five locals rode in the Quiche with Erik Snucins, Jay Morrison, Dan Webster and Wim Kok completing the 208-kilometre ride in 10 hours 47 minutes.

The North Peace Light Horse Association was alive with competition at the Fall Schooling Show this weekend. Riders from around the region competed in Western and English events on Saturday and in jumping on Sunday.

Hockey players from around the region took to the ice this weekend for the annual Taylor Back to School Jamboree. This tournament was one of the first chances for players from novice to midget to get back on the ice before the start of the season.

Local figure skaters are shaking off the rust at the Fort St. John Figure Skating Club Camp at the Enerplex this week. The skaters have are on the ice next week too, trying to prepare for the season.

Ninety-two locals kids are taking to the Enerplex ice this week for the Best Performance Hockey Camp. The camp is open to all ages of and concentrates on mastering skating.
