The Peace River Regional District has lifted an evacuation order for two properties impacted by the Old Fort landslide, and downgraded an evacuation order to an alert for three others.

Most of the Old Fort community, however, remains under an evacuation order.

Evacuation orders were rescinded or downgraded on the west side of the community nearest the landslide. The changes were made on the advice of the geotechnical experts monitoring the slide, PRRD spokeswoman Kristen Danczak said.

The slide continues to be assessed, and any changes to the main evacuation order covering the community will be made when it's safe to do so, Danczak said.
