Road equipment is being mobilized at Old Fort

The Ministry of Transportation is identifying a safe access route into Old Fort for emergency commander vehicles, the Peace River Regional District reports.

"Road equipment is being mobilized and once the geotechnical team clears the area for safe access work will begin," the district posted in an update Thursday.

The equipment is stationed on the Old Fort Road west of the Site C entrance.

The equipment will be parked in the area over the weekend, and work will begin once the geotechnical team determines the area is safe for workers to enter.
