October! Finally! My favourite month of the whole year has finally arrived.
I'm not sure why I love October so much, but I think it's mostly because of halloween. I love the decorations and how all of the stores in town try to be a little spooky. Even if it's kind of cheesy, it's still my kind of thing.
Not only is it finally my favourite month, but it came in with a bang. Literally. The weather was the perfect fall weather, the colors were pretty and the weekend was just so eventful.
To start off my weekend, I was covering the Fire Prevention activities at Canadian Tire. There were firetrucks, races, demonstrations, a BBQ and so much more. Then out of no where a bee came and stung my finger!
So here I was, with a whole bunch of nice looking firefighters/paramedics and a hand starting to swell and what do I do? I call my dad. I really have to work on this whole damsel in distress thing!
Once my hand was taken care of, my luck started to turn around. I got the special privilege of being the first media person that day to go up in the firetrucks bucket and look out over the town. I don't think I've ever been so high in my life, besides being in an airplane.
After the events were finished, I met up with a few of my friends for my friend Jenna's birthday. We went to the Big Bang Rock Fest where our friends band Sunset Sympathy was playing. Not only was it a great show, but I think it was their best performance yet.
I got to do my favourite thing, try something new, spend some time with friends and rock out at a local concert. All in all October definitely came in with a bang. Now with halloween less than a month away, I need to find a costume!
