Letters: Liberal energy policies damaging our economy

Re: 'Largest B.C. Montney producer shifting headquarters to U.S.', Alaska Highway News, Oct. 31, 2019

I am disappointed to hear that Encana will be moving its headquarters to the United States and changing its name to Ovintiv Inc.

There is no doubt that this decision is due to the Liberals’ anti-energy policies that have not only damaged our economy, but also our national reputation as a global leader in the energy sector.

While it is good news that this move will not result in any job losses, Encana is just the latest Canadian oil and gas company to leave under the Liberals’ watch.

It is clear from this announcement that more needs be done to support our energy sector. The Liberals must stop their attacks and scrap Bill C-69, the No More Pipelines Bill.

My Conservative colleagues and I will continue to hold the Liberals to account and fight for our energy sector and the men and women who work in this important industry.
