I am shocked and saddened to hear of the horrific terrorist attack in Vienna. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

Today I spoke with His Excellency, Dr. Stefan Pehringer, the Austrian Ambassador to Canada, and passed along my sympathies as Chair of the Canada-Austria Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Despite this tragedy, the Austrian people are hopeful and united, and I want to commend the efforts of those who risked their lives to help save the lives of others during the attack.

I stand with Austria in condemning this senseless act of terrorism.

— MP Bob Zimmer, Fort St. John
