Residents were invited out to Beatton Park yesterday, July 25 to take part in a learning lesson on utilizing native plants as medicine. Indigenous agrologist Margaret Fenton was their guide and says it's more than just understanding the uses of plants, but also having respect for nature and practicing good stewardship of the land.

Yarrow root, rose hips, and buffalo berries are just a few of the useful plants found in the Peace region.
