McPhillips will fill the gap left by Dale Widsten, whose last week with the department is this week before he leaves for the district fire chief job in the County of Grande Prairie.

McPhillips will oversee the fire hall's daily operations until a new fire chief and deputy chief are in place, the regional district says.
