Court Docket: Feb. 17-21

Sentences and fines handed out in provincial courts for the week ending Feb. 21, 2020:

Fort St. John

• Shane Clemen (born 1991) was fined $1,200, issued a one-year criminal driving ban, and ordered to pay a $360 victim surcharge for impaired driving, committed in Fort St. John in October 2019.

• Jared Eugene Ryan (born 1984) was issued a one-year conditional sentence for charges of vehicle theft and assault, committed in Fort St. John in August 2017.

• Albert Alex Davis (born 1969) was issued an 18-month conditional sentence and ordered to provide a DNA sample for break and enter, committed in Fort St. John in May 2016. Davis was sentenced to zero days in jail for a charge of break and enter committed in Fort St. John in September 2015, and zero days jail on four counts of break and enter committed in Fort St. John in June 2015. Davis was issued a one-year driving prohibition for driving while prohibited/licence suspended, committed in Moberly Lake in December 2018. He received zero days for wilfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer. Davis was issued a one-year driving prohibition for driving while prohibited/licence suspended, committed in Fort St. John in January 2018.

Dawson Creek

• Richard Patrick Michael Hamilton (born 1965) was fined $1,000 and issued a one-year criminal driving ban for impaired driving, and fined $500 for driving while prohibited, both committed in Bessborough in June 2018. Hamilton was fined $250 for failing to appear pursuant to a court order in September 2019. Hamilton was fined $1,000 for driving while prohibited, committed in Dawson Creek in July 2018.

• Clifford Edward Thomas Papp (born 1995) was issued a suspended sentence with a one-year probation order for assault, committed in Dawson Creek in April 2019; issued a suspended sentence with a one-year probation order for theft $5,000 or under, committed in Dawson Creek in December 2018; issued a suspended sentence with a one-year probation order for theft $5,000 or under, committed in Dawson Creek in October 2018; and issued a suspended sentence with a one-year probation order for theft $5,000 or under, committed in Dawson Creek in October 2018.

Chetwynd

• Sheldon Leonard Braun (born 1970) was fined $1,000, issued a one-year probation order, and ordered to pay a $300 victim surcharge for breach of probation related to a 2018 assault conviction.
