Court Docket: Feb. 3-7

Sentences and fines handed out in provincial courts for the weeks ending Feb. 7, 2020:

Fort St. John

• Jerry Joseph Mullin (born 1970) was sentenced to 21 days jail and issued a five-year firearms ban for assault, 21 days jail and issued a five-year firearms ban for uttering threats, and 21 days jail and issued a five-year firearms ban for mischief $5,000 or under, all committed in Fort St. John in June 2019. Mullin was further sentenced to an additional seven days jail and ordered to pay a $100 victim surcharge on two charges of breaching an undertaking, committed in Fort St. John in October 2019. Mullin was sentenced to an additional 14 days jail and ordered to pay a $100 victim surcharge on a charge of breaching a release order, and an additional 14 days jail and ordered to pay a $100 victim surcharge on a charge of breaching a non-communication order, committed in Fort St. John in January 2020. Mullin was sentenced to 25 days jail, ordered to provide a DNA sample, and ordered to pay a $300 victim surcharge for break and enter with intent to commit an offence, committed in Fort St. John in January 2020.

• Shania Margrette Virginia Apssassin-Paquette (born 1996) was fined $1,000 and issued a one-year criminal driving ban for driving while impaired, committed in Fort St. John in August 2019.

• Peggy Lee Davis (born 1979) was fined $1,000 and issued a one-year criminal driving ban for driving while impaired, committed in Moberly Lake in June 2018. Davis was fined $500 and issued a one-year driving ban under the Motor Vehicle Act for driving while prohibited/licence suspended, committed in Hudson's Hope in December 2017. Davis was issued a suspended sentence with a one-year probation order for assault causing bodily harm, committed in Fort St. John in December 2019. Davis was fined $500 and issued a one-year driving ban under the Motor Vehicle Act for driving while prohibited/licence suspended, committed in Vernon in December 2017.

• Jenna Catherine Davis (born 1998) was granted a conditional discharge with a one-year probation order for assault, committed in Fort St. John in June 2019.

• Kenneth Lorne Hopkins (born 1986) was sentenced to zero days in jail for theft $5,000 or under, committed in Fort St. John in May 2018, and zero days for two breach of undertakings, committed in Fort St. John in April 2019. Hopkins was sentenced to zero days for breach of recognizance, committed in Fort St. John in July 2017.

• Rusty Rawhide Oker Desjarlais (born 1996) was sentenced to two days jail for breach of probation.

• Torah Nancy-Jane Pallister (born 1982) was issued a one-year $500 recognizance after allegation of causing fear of injury or damage.

Dawson Creek

• Steven Robert Carr (born 1989) was sentenced to time served and issued a 12-month probation order for possession of stolen property, and to time served for breaching probation.

• Jeremy Brent Miller (born 1984) was issued a 12-month $500 recognizance after allegation of mischief, and issued a 12-month $500 recognizance after allegation of causing fear of injury or damage.

Chetwynd

• Jordan Maxwell Totusek (born 1989) was issued a suspended sentence with an additional one-year probation order for breaching probation.
