The Dinosaur Lake boat launch will open on Friday, May 15 at 9 a.m., the District of Hudson's Hope says. Visitors will be able to use the boat launch, restrooms, and day-use area, just in time for the long weekend.
Camping will not be allowed at Dinosaur Lake until June 1, and the District won't be cleaning playground equipment, so users should be aware of the risk.
"It will be entirely up to users of the playgrounds, boat launch and day-use area to self-monitor to ensure that proper social distancing is maintained, as failure to do so could result in the recreational areas being closed," said Hudson's Hope Mayor Dave Heiberg.
In addition to Dinosaur Lake, the Cameron Lake, King Gething and Alwin Holland campgrounds will open on June 1 as well, as will Hudson's Hope Visitor Information Centre.
Hudson's Hope's online camping system will be available for use this Friday at 9 a.m., for people to book sites starting with June 1.
The Beattie Park, Beryl Prairie, and Pool Park playgrounds will open Friday as well, with the Cameron Lake playground opening June 1.
