Cash stolen from A&W

Mounties in Fort Nelson are searching for a suspect who broke into the local A&W restaurant this week and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. According to a release, officers were called out after an alarm was activated between 4 a.m.

Mounties in Fort Nelson are searching for a suspect who broke into the local A&W restaurant this week and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. 

According to a release, officers were called out after an alarm was activated between 4 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17.

RCMP said there were "obvious signs of a break and enter" however there was no one in the building when they arrived to investigate.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken during the break-in, police said.

The suspect is described as Caucasian man and standing between five-foot-ten to six-feet tall. He was wearing leather skate shoes, black track pants with a reflective stripe on the ankles, a "Hustle Gang" sweater, and a grey/black face mask, according to police.

The suspect may also have tattoos on his left forearm near the wrist, police said.

Anyone with information that can aid the investigation is asked to call Northern Rockies RCMP at 250-774-2700.
