A fire that broke out on the roof of the Fort Nelson branch Robin’s Donuts is still under investigation, said officials.

The blaze broke out in the early morning hours of Oct. 28.

“We found heavy smoke and flame showing from the roof on the back side of the building, crews set up and we began extinguishing,” said Northern Rockies Fire Chief Gord McCleary, who added that it took several hours for his crew to extinguish the fire.

At one point, McCleary said, there were 16 fire department members on scene fighting the blaze.

The chief said it would be several days before the investigation yields any results.
