The province will hold a series of open houses on groundwater licensing in Northeast B.C. next week.
The province says residents who are using groundwater from a well or dugout for non-domestic uses on their property will need to apply for a licence by March 1, 2019. The open houses will help groundwater users learn about what's required in the licensing application process.
The open houses are being held from noon to 3 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. at Northern Lights College in the following locations:
- Fort St. John, Oct. 23
- Dawson Creek, Oct. 24
- Fort Nelson, Oct. 25
Staff from FrontCounter BC, along with water allocation staff, will be on hand to answer questions and ensure that applications are ready to submit.
To attend one of the open houses, RSVP to: AuthorizingAgency.FortStJohn@gov.bc.ca, or call 250-787-3415. Drop-ins are also welcome.
