Hudson's Hope Chief Administrative Officer Chris Cvik will be retiring at the end of the year, after serving two years with the district, and six years in the Peace region.

Cvik gave notice to council this week, with his last day Dec. 31. Cvik says he will help council over the next few months until a replacement can be found.

“I have really enjoyed my time with the District,” Cvik said in a statement.

“Hudson’s Hope is a great family oriented community and the Mayor and Council have been very supportive of the initiatives administration brought forward, so I decided to stay a little longer and end my career here."

Cvik came to the Peace region in 2014, first as CAO for the Peace River Regional District. He took the helm in Hudson's Hope in 2018, initially on a temporary basis of one year, but decided to stay longer.

“We are sorry to see Chris leave as he was able to move several of Council’s initiatives forward and was well respected by Council and Staff,” said Mayor Dave Heiberg.
