The Hudson’s Hope Fire Department and Hudson’s Hope RCMP are partnering up in an arson investigation that occurred on May 8, 2021. At 10:35 pm, the Hudson’s Hope Fire Department was dispatched to a grass fire on Canyon Drive near Signal Hill.

"The fire appears to have been human caused," stated Hudson’s Hope Fire Chief Brad Milton. "This was a very careless act. Things could have turned very bad, very quickly. A fire like this could have run into the trees, putting our community, property and Human Safety at extreme risk with how dry the current conditions are."

The fire was able to be contained and extinguished by volunteers of the Hudson’s Hope Fire Department.

"We have collected some evidence from the scene which will be used for our investigation," reported Cpl Rob Gardner, Hudson’s Hope RCMP Detachment Commander.
