Hudson’s Hope Fire Chief Brad Milton and Hudson’s Hope RCMP Detachment Commander Cpl. Rob Gardner got together to brain storm ideas for what to be for Halloween.
They both agreed to be super heroes. It was decided that Cpl Gardner could see about being a Fire Fighter and Chief Milton could be a police officer.
The Hudson’s Hope RCMP and Hudson’s Hope Fire Department wants it to be a fun and safe evening for kids of all ages, and want to remind everyone of the following safety tips:
•Dress in bright colours and use reflective tape or glow sticks.
•Use a flashlight. Stay in well-lit areas.
•Wear make-up. It's harder to see in a mask.
•Go down one side of the street and up the other. This limits the number of times you need to cross the street.
•Never go inside the home or car of someone you don't know.
•Stay on the doorstep or sidewalk.
•Have your parents check your treats before eating them.
•Keep porch lights or external security lights on
•Keep doors clear and accessible and avoid decorations that are flammable or can pose a tripping hazard.
•Don't invite children inside your home.
•Only pass out commercially wrapped candy and snacks.
•Keep pets indoors, as they may be easily scared by children in costumes.
•Please slow down
•Watch for trick and treaters of all ages
The Hudson’s Hope Emergency Services hopes you all have a safe and Happy Halloween!
