The District of Hudson’s Hope is looking to build a new public works shop.
On Tuesday, the district put up a request for qualifications to supply and construct the new building.
“We need to replace the molding old shop,” said CAO Tom Matus.
When asked for a price or range estimate, Matus said he would "prefer not to " provide such information.
This building will provide storage and maintenance service to the equipment the district uses for roads, snow clearing, and other services.
According to the request for qualifications, the shop will be 12,000 square feet at minimum. The building’s roof must be able to support a solar panel array, include a crane with a 20,000-pound lifting capacity, and hydronic radiant flooring. This involves heating the floors of the shop with hot water pumped through tubing on a floor surface.
