Friday

Beginner’s gymnastics, Dawson Creek, 11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the O’Brien School gym.

Here is a perfect activity for active children under the age of 5.

Every Friday from now until March 13, join an instructor for a tumbling good time at recreation gymnastics for beginners @ the O'Brien School gym. The program is geared towards children, with individual classed for ages 18-35 months (9:15 - 10:00 a.m.), 3 years (10:15 - 11:00 a.m.), and 4 years (11:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.). Other age groups are scheduled throughout the week.

Only two spots are available for Friday sessions in the 4-year-old category. Unfortunately all others are filled at this time.

Art exhibit, Dawson Creek, 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.

"Home is Where the Art Is" is an exhibit that displays the works of Peace Region artists from Alberta and BC. The installation is making it's only stop in BC at the Dawson Creek Gallery, and will be on display until Jan. 30.

Family Swim, Dawson Creek, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Public Swim, Fort St. John, 1:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Teen/Tween Glow in the dark skate, Fort St. John, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Grab your friends and come on down to the Pomeroy Sport Centre for the first Teen/Tween glow skate of 2015, 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.

Live Music, Fort St. John, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Come enjoy some local talent at the Campfire Cowboys event, being held this Saturday in the lounge at the Royal Canadian Legion, 10103 105 Ave in Fort St. John.

The doors open at 5:00 p.m., live music starts at 6:00 and will continue on until 9:00 p.m.

No minors.

19 + Climbing wall boot camp, Dawson Creek, 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

The climbing wall "boot camp" at the Kenn Borek Aquatic Centre climbing wall every Saturday until March 14, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Classes are already underway but there is still four spots available at a pro-rated rate. The climbing wall boot camp combines climbing and high intensity intervals for a full-body work out with a mixture of flexibility, cardio and muscular strength training. Both men and women of all fitness levels and climbing abilities are welcome. Must be 19+ Call the aquatic centre at 250-782-7246 for more information, and cost.

 

Sunday

NFL Playoffs on the big screen, Fort St. John, 1:00 p.m., and 4:40 p.m.

Want to catch the NFL playoffs on the big screen?

The Lido Theatre at 10156, 100 Ave. in Fort St. John is hosting both the NFC and AFC championship games on Sunday, as the league winds its way towards the 2015 Super bowl.

First up, the Seattle Seahawks take on the Green Bay Packers with kick off scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Later, the Indianapolis Colts will face the New England Patriots at 4:40 p.m.

No minors.
