Prince George homicide investigated

A 26-year-old woman was stabbed to death Thursday night in downtown Prince George.

Police were called to the scene in front of the courthouse at 10 p.m., where the woman was found with at least one stab wound and rushed to hospital. She died of her injuries in hospital Friday morning, RCMP said.

"This investigation is in the early stages and significant resources have been deployed to assist," Cpl. Craig Douglass wrote in a release. "Police wish to speak to anyone that may have witnessed this incident or anyone that may have information."

The Prince George RCMP Serious Crime Unit is leading the investigation.
