Lake View Credit Union is celebrating students by awarding five, $1,000 bursaries to enterprising graduates throughout the Peace region.
The bursary program is an annual initiative that offers graduating members of Lake View Credit Union who will be attending post-secondary school in the next two years an opportunity to receive $1,000 in order to help offset the costs of their continuing education.
Graduating students receiving bursaries for 2020 are:
• Brook Harmacek – Chetwynd Secondary School
• Kendra Bowen – Dawson Creek Secondary School
• Drake Allen – Dawson Creek Secondary School
• Courtney Pilgrim – Tumbler Ridge Secondary School
• Emma Tobin – Tumbler Ridge Secondary School
“On behalf of our organization, I would like to congratulate the recipients of this year’s bursaries and wish them all the best as they set out to achieve their dreams”, stated Lori Archibald, CEO of Lake View Credit Union. “Supporting education and youth is something that’s near and dear to our hearts and on behalf of our members, without whom we wouldn’t be able to provide this funding, we look forward to seeing how these exceptional young people give back to our community in the years to come.”
The employees and directors of the Community Social Responsibility Fund Committee would like to thank all the bursary applicants for their submissions and wish them the best on their future endeavors.
Those interested in applying for the bursary in the future, it is required that you be a member of Lake View Credit Union no later than March of the year you apply. Additionally, Lake View Credit Union provides employment opportunities for summer students annually.
