RCMP investigate highway death near Dease Lake

RCMP are investigating after a man was found dead at a roadside pullout on Highway 37 near Dease Lake on Friday.

In a news release, RCMP say the man's body was found near the Stikine River Bridge. Officers had been investigating a nearby pickup truck that was on fire when a passing motorist alerted them to the body. There was no one inside the truck, police said.

It’s unclear if the two scenes are related, police said. Major Crimes and the BC Coroners are investigating alongside Dease Lake RCMP.
