A firm with offices in B.C. and the Yukon has been awarded a surveying contract for the Site C dam.
On Tuesday, Underhill Geomatics Ltd. announced details of the $300,000 contract on its website.
“The contract services include completing survey quality auditing, surveying and drafting services as required in the role of the owner’s surveyor to support site preparation and other construction activities,” a company news release states.
The contract will run for six months, with an option to extend to two years.
Underhill president Chris Cryderman was unsure of how many people the company will employ.
“Right now, there’s only two or three people,” he said. “There may be a greater need.”
Underhill has offices in the Lower Mainland and the Yukon, but not in Northeast B.C.
Underhill has worked with Hydro in the past, including compiling preliminary data on the Site C dam site in 2008.
