New Taylor council sworn in

The District of Taylor's new council was sworn in Monday evening.

Mayor Rob Fraser and Couns. Betty Ponto, Brent Taillefer, Dave Lueneberg, and Michelle Turnbull took their oaths of office before being assigned their responsibilities as councillors.

Ponto was apponted chair of the recreation committee, with Turnbull as vice chair. 

Lueneberg was appointed chair of the protection committee, with Taillefer as vice chair.

Taillefer was appointed chair of the public works committee, with Turnbull to also serve as vice chair.

Fraser will represent Taylor on the Peace River Regional District board. Ponto will be his alternate.

Fraser recognized and thanked outgoing councillor George Barber for his work on council, and as a former employee and fire chief of the district.

A bingo is planned in his honour next month.
