The District of Taylor says some of its outdoor rec areas and playgrounds have reopened effective immediately.

That includes the tennis and pickle ball courts, and Peace Island Park will reopen Friday, June 5, including campsites, trails, playgrounds, and day use areas.

The baseball diamonds remain closed, and the pavilion, Rocky Mountain fort and store, and the island gazebo will remain closed at Peace Island Park.

Physical distancing rules apply, and hand washing is encouraged. Though playground equipment, benches and picnic tables can be used, they will not be sanitized, the District said.

Residents are asked to limit equipment use during busy times, and stay home if they are feeling unwell.

“Outdoor recreation is important to our community and we are happy to start to reopen some of the District’s recreation areas,” the District said in an update.

“However, safety is our number one priority, so we ask that people followed posted guidelines and safety precautions.”
