Telus seeks support for rural internet upgrades

Telus is looking to bring high speed internet upgrades to Bear Flat, Rolla, and the Moberly Lake area.

Company representatives will meet with the Peace River Regional District at the board meeting on Thursday. The company is looking for a letter of support to qualify for government subsidies through the Connecting British Columbia Program.

Representatives Brian Bettis and Tyler Mooi will present to the board.

The Connecting BC program is funded by the province and administered by the Northern Development Initiative Trust.

It received $90 million in new pandemic-related economic recovery funding for projects that can be completed by October 2021.
