Fort St. John Huskies host Grande Prairie Kings as NWJHL semifinals start Saturday

The puck drops at 8 p.m. at the North Peace Arena Saturday night as the Fort St. John Huskies begin NJWHL semifinal action against the Grande Prairie JDA Kings.

The Huskies earned a first round bye after finishing atop the standings this year with a record of 27-7-2 and 56 points.

The fourth-seeded Kings beat the defending NWJHL champion Fairview Flyers 6-3 Thursday night, taking the best-of-five quarterfinal series 3-2.

The Huskies have the edge against the Kings, winning the season series 4-2 and outscoring them 24-13.

Meanwhile, the Dawson Creek Junior Canucks travel to Peace River to start their semifinal series against the North Peace Navigators. The season series between those teams was tied at three games apiece.
