The outlook for the rest of the 2020 B.C. High School Rodeo season is starting to come into picture, and it's not bright.
Thus far, all North Region rodeos scheduled for the second half of the season have been cancelled (this includes April rodeos and ones scheduled for Chetwynd and Quesnel in May), and the NHSRA announced it was cancelling the 2020 National Junior High Finals on May 1.
The National Junior Finals is a popular event each year wich gives junior high school students the opportunity to travel to the States and compete with North America's best. The 2020 rodeo was scheduled for June 21 to 27 in Des Moines, Iowa.
No decision has been made for the B.C. Junior and Senior Provincial Finals, as well as the Canadian High School Rodeo Finals. A decision is likely to be made in regards to the junior provincials by May 20, with the other two rodeos still up in the air.
