Burgers to Beat MS continues at A&W until midnight

For every teen burger purchased at A&W today, money will be donated to the MS Society of Canada. Today, August 22, is the 11th Burgers to Beat MS day.

The event began this morning and will continue until midnight. Sherri Mytopher, a Northern regional council member with the MS Society, donated a plaque to A&W manager Jonathan Rodrigo at lunchtime today that says "Thank you for supporting Canadians living with MS."

Last year's Burgers to Beat MS event raised $1.9 million nation-wide, and this year's fundraising goal is $2 million.

The funds raised from the event will help the MS Society of Canada fund research to find a cure for Canadians affected by multiple sclerosis, fund research to develop treatments for the disease, and fund MS support groups, among other things.
