Fort St. John Elks offering adult recreational speed skating program

For 2019, the Fort St. John Elks Speed Skating Club is offering an adult recreational speed skating program to introduce beginners to the sport.

The program will run from Jan. 14 until the third week of March, and will include two coached ice times a week.

“We are focused on developing a community of adult speed skaters in a positive and low cost environment,” said the Elks in a statement.

The skating times are Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 to 9 p.m., and Saturdays (no coach) from 10 to 11 a.m., when available.
