As summer comes to a close, so too does rodeo season.
But fear not, there is one more rodeo in the Peace Region still to come. Halfway River First Nations is holding its annual rodeo September 6 to 8.
The rodeo will have a Friday night Bull Riders Canada show as it has the last two years. The show starts at 6 p.m., followed by a concert from Julian Austin at 9 p.m. During the day on Friday there will be gymkana and junior bull riding calcutta events. To enter, call Sky Hunter at 250-263-4446.
The main rodeo action takes place on Saturday and Sunday, starting at 2 p.m. both days, with the junior rodeo going at 11 a.m.. There will be a breakfast put on by Horizon North each morning at 7 a.m. as well, and helicopter rides for kids on Saturday from 12 to 1 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m.
On Saturday night, there will be a steak dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a rodeo dance and Sweetwater Band concert at 9 p.m.
