Northern Strikers win silver in Edmonton at Slurpee Cup

The Fort St. John Soccer Club Northern Strikers U11 Girls team competed in the EWZSA Slurpee Cup in Edmonton, May 31 to June 2. The girls played fantastically and won a silver medal.

The Northern Strikers encountered Eastside Monaco from Saskatchewan in the first game. It was a very tight match and FSJ girls won the game 4-3. The second game against MUSC Stars 09 put a lot challenges to the Northern Strikers since the opponent was a much higher tiered team. After an disappointing first half allowing four goal, the team never gave up and scored three times in the second half. In the last a few nail biting minutes of the game, the Northern Strikers put a lot of pressure on Stars but the girls did not find another chance to tie up the score.
