Peace Motocross Association cancels Taylor and Fort St. John races

The 2020 Peace Motocross Association season was set to kick-off with a race in Taylor on Mother's Day, May 10, as it does every year. However, after speculation that the race would be cancelled, the PMA announced on Monday they were officially suspending the Taylor race, as well as the one set for Fort St. John on May 23, the next race on the schedule.

"We have committed to reconvene in a few weeks time to see if see further postponements, cancellations, and/or schedule alterations will be needed," said PMA President Jason Berlinger on the group's Facebook page.  "Our goal is to still have a series for 2020, but ultimately, things will need to start to falling into place sooner rather then later."

At this time there is no dates for when the two cancelled-races would be made up. The next race is scheduled for June 14 in Peace River.

As for track availability, the Fort St. John Motocross Club announced online it plans to open as usual, with "strict social distancing guidelines in place," as long as they would be legally allowed to when the time comes. Due to the amount of snow still on the track, it will likely be a while still before the track can open.
