The wet track at Northern Lights Raceway wrecked havoc all weekend long as drivers eagerly anticipated jockeying for a spot on the top of the standings in the Fort St. John Drag Racing Association.
Action was called early on Saturday Sept. 10 and then Sunday there was just too much standing water to be able to get things started according to track president Mark Brush.
With Sunday marking the final race of the year, standings will revert back to how they ended up on the weekend of July 24.
Jordan Mayes of Chetwynd in his 1995 Chevy Camaro collected 146 points on the year and was the top car in pure street, just ahead of Kevin Wiebe who had 129.
Steve Brietkreuz of Beaverlodge and his 1968 Chevy Camaro finished as the top car in no box with 243 points. Bobby Bailey in the 1968 Dodge Barracuda had the second best no box car on the season with 220 points.
The 2003 Mullas Dragster of Paul Lavoie was the best box car at NLR this year with 162 total points. Robin Derose was second with 145 in the 2003 Chevy cavalier.
