SCOREBOARD (Game 6) : Fort St. John Huskies 3, North Peace Navigators 2

Not so fast. The Fort St. John Huskies are still alive after going into Peace River last night and playing their best game of the series in a 3-2 Game 6 win, forcing a Game 7 today at home at 2 p.m. against the North Peace Navigators.

“We wanted it a little bit more tonight and really came out to play for a good 60 minutes. We backed up our Game 5 effort tonight,” said Coach Todd Alexander.

“We didn’t give up much. A lot of the pressure was in the offensive zone, we really shored up our neutral zone, and I was very impressed with how we played.”

The Huskies broke out to a 3-0 with 30 minutes to play. The Navs scored near the end of the second, and at the beginning of the third, but that would be it, as the team and goalie Jonathan Bateman would shut North Peace out the rest of the way.

Both teams don’t have much time to think about the game, and are playing their third game in three days today.

“We just have to play the same way we have. These last two games have been our best two of the series, and if we play the same way we’ll have a good opportunity to get it done at home,” Alexander said.
