Hello reader, it's Kayli Taylor from the Silver Willow 4-H Club. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and here's to a great 2020. Regisration is now closed for the 2020 4-H year. This year holds a lot for members and leaders alike. We have some new faces in the dirstrict, and we are hoping to see great things from them. We remind all members returning to lend a hand to the new members this year.
With the cold temperatures, members with animals expecting offsprince are reminded to have the proper facility for lambing and calving, with heat lamps, clean bedding, food and water. The Silver Willow members are expected to bring communication topics to the meeting on January 19, and then go to the beef weigh in.
Members in sheep project will be expecting lambs within the next month. 4-H requires members to have market lambs born after January 1 of the new year, but a lamb also has to be over 90 pounds, in order to be sold at the North Peace 4-H Achievement Days. This year's Achievement Days will be held at the North Peace Fall Fairgrounds from July 2-4. It's not just the sale that will be happening — there will be a beef and sheep show, horse show, dog show and agility expo. Stay tuned for other articles for more information regarding the Achievement Days.
