Sophie Stevens to compete in figure skating at Winter Games

Sophie Stevens will represent both Fort St. John and the Fort St. John Figure Skating Club in the Pre-Novice Women’s Figure Skating Event at the B.C. Winter Games.

Stevens' group will skate their short program on Friday, February 21, from 1:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. All of the figure skating events will take place at the Taylor Arena.

The pre-women's freeskate goes Saturday, February 22, from 12:15 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. The medal ceremony starts Saturday at 6 p.m.

Stevens qualified for the Games with a strong showing at the B.C./ Yukon Sectional Championships in November 2019.

Stevens recently competed at the Totem Figure Skating Competition in Fort St. John, February 8 and 9. She finished first in Star 9 Artistic, and second in both the Pre-Novice Ladies Short Program and Long Program.
