Team Tardi loses to Bottcher in close game at Champions Cup

Sterling Middleton and Team Tardi are playing well at the 2019 Humpty's Champions Cup in Saskatoon, the final event of the 2019 Grand Slam of Curling season. Unfortunately, the team is still without a win after two games.

Tardi took on Brendan Bottcher this morning, and gave the 2019 Brier runner-ups all they could handle. Bottcher needed an extra end to get by Team Tardi and win 6-5, improving to 2-0 in Pool C.

That was Team Tardi's second straight nail-biting loss, after they began the tournament with a 7-6 loss to Matt Dunstone's team on Tuesday night. Tardi had a one-point lead going into the final end of that game.

Next up for Middleton and his teammates is a match against Team Carruthers (0-1) today at 2 p.m.

The final round robin for Team Tardi and all teams goes tomorrow, with the playoffs taking place Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28.
