Dawson Creek native Andrew Walsh is currently in his junior year at Bemidji State University in Minnesota where's he's goaltending for the Bemidji Beavers men's hockey team.
Walsh is the starting goaltender for the Beavers, who are sitting with a record of 5-7-2 overall and 5-4-1 in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
In their conference, Walsh is sitting at a 2.44 GAA and .914 save percentage, while overall he has a 2.89 GAA and .906 save percentage over 15 games.
Walsh is making a name for himself on the Beavers. He's been named the WCHA's Defensive Player of the Week on a couple of occasions during his time with the Beavers. He was also named the HCA National Rookie of the Month in January of 2012, which was a first for a Bemidji hockey player.
The 22 year old is a business major with a minor in coaching who's a regular member of the BSU Dean's List and he will be celebrating his 23rd birthday later this month.
