Speed skaters on top at Grande Prairie Interclub

The Dawson Creek Speed Skating Club had a strong showing at the Peace Wapiti Speed Skating Club's Interclub Nov. 30 in Grande Prairie, coming home with four top-three finishes.

Hannah Brunn finished second in Division 3 Mixed Genders on Saturday, after coming in first in the 1500 final, second in the 3000 m final and second in the 400 m final for a total of 2,632 points.

Ian Brunn also came home second in Division 4 Mixed Genders with 2,359 points, finishing first in the 2,000 m final, second in the 400 m final and fourth in the 200 m final.

Finishing first overall in Division 5 Mixed Genders with 2,816 points was Brianna Winiandy, who had two first-place finishes in the 400 m and 200 m finals and second in the 2,000 m.

In Division 9 Mixed Genders, Naomi Anderson also had a first-place finish with 2,000 points. She finished first in the 100 m final with a time of 34.92 seconds.

Jack Stainer and West Peterson had good showings in Division 9 as well, with Stainer coming in fourth and Peterson fifth.
